This is Rabbi Ovadia Yosef who passed away towards the end of last year. As well as being considered an almost peerless religious authority, particularly among those Jews who's families hail from the middle east, he was renowned for having a sharp tongue regarding those with whom he disagreed. It's no surprise to see therefore that this poster of him in Machane Yehuda market has been defaced with swastikas- 'Nazi' all-too-often being a default insult in Israeli political discourse (hence recent attempts to have the use of the term banned).
